Horsham, PA, July 20, 2017 – GDP Space Systems congratulates the THAAD/Missile Defense Agency (MDA) team on their successful testing of a Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) missile defense system against an air-launched intermediate-range ballistic missile (IRBM) over the Pacific Ocean between Hawaii and Alaska. This test of the THAAD system is especially noteworthy because the incoming IRBM is said to be a faster, more difficult target to hit than other shorter range missiles. The IRBM was designed to behave similar to the ones being developed in countries like North Korea.
