Software Engineer – Acroamatics: Goleta, CA

Acroamatics Telemetry Systems is an Aerospace Test and Measurement product firm headquartered in Goleta, CA. Acroamatics offers a spectrum of products in support of test & evaluation and launch operations at a variety of government range test facilities across the U.S. and around the world. Job Description:

Acroamatics is looking for a software engineer to assist in development of GUI operator interfaces and operational software for our telemetry ground station product lines. The main focus of this position will be to work with current engineering staff to develop requirements, plan, develop, produce, debug, validate and document software code.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Apply existing software tool expertise and identify and apply new methods in pursuit of the project.
  • Work with existing staff subject matter experts to develop specifications and implement a project plan.
  • Work with management to report progress and provide critical input as changes are needed.
  • Review and understand key product user interface operator attributes and make suggestions for improvement.
  • Work with co-workers to understand the company’s overall market and product strategies to better assist in the preparation of a quality end-solution.
  • Establish and maintain a regular work schedule, maintain good work habits, and develop a contributive team member mentality.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Desire to create outstanding solutions, push the state-of-the-art and be a key contributing member of the Acroamatics technical staff.
  • Enthusiasm working in technology and solving problems.
  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer science or a related Engineering discipline.
  • One to two years experience with C, C++, C# for embedded applications; GUI development in Java, Python or other related languages.

Electronic Test/Engineering Development Technician – Acroamatics: Goleta, CA

Work closely with Acroamatics design and engineering staff to assemble, test, and troubleshoot a wide variety of Acroamatics range telemetry data acquisition and processing system and card level products – supporting activities ranging from component level to large scale system integration projects. VB Programming experience a plus. Associate level electronics technology circuits and methods academic credentials are required to qualify for this position, at a minimum. Equivalent military tech school and industry experience will be considered. A diverse range of production and development support tasks, joint work with senior engineering, including test, calibration, troubleshooting and repair of digital and analog assemblies are core responsibilities of this position. Individuals able to work with minimum of supervision are highly desirable. The ability to read and comprehend schematics, design and engineering documentation, test procedures, and other common associated technical documentation is desirable.

 

Job Description:

Acroamatics is looking for an electronic test and engineering technician to assist in new product test, repair, and engineering development. The successful candidate will be able to handle multiple simultaneous tasks, with rapid shifts in priority while maintaining a high level of accuracy and an organized and clean work environment. Good communication skills and a willingness to work with Acroamatics technical staff to complete assigned tasks and master new skills is essential.  Experience with aerospace test and evaluation or test range telemetry terminology, data acquisition, and processing is a plus, but not required.

 

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Apply technical expertise to become familiar with documented Acroamatics product acceptance test, troubleshooting procedures, and test equipment.
  • Work with existing technical staff and operations management personnel to organize and meet Acroamatics product test, integration, and repair orders.
  • Work with co-workers to understand the company’s overall market and product strategies to better assist in the preparation of a quality end-user customer solution.
  • Establish and maintain a regular work schedule, maintain good work habits, and develop a contributive team member mentality.
  • The desire for growth in technical and engineering job responsibilities is a plus.

 

Desired Qualifications:

  • Associate Degree in Electronic Technology or the military equivalent with 2-5 years working in test on similar types of electronic devices is a plus. Entry level candidates with the ability to quickly adapt and learn will be considered, and are encouraged to apply.
  • Knowledge and experience with oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers and communications devices, link and analog signal generators and test sets, volt/ohm meters and test power supplies.
  • Ability to read and comprehend test procedures and be able to clearly comprehend written instructions and complete acceptance test documentation.
  • Candidate must have a solid base of MS Windows PC, some understanding of network IP device set-up and operation, and a proficiency with MS Office Suite is required. A working knowledge of spreadsheet and database programs, or Linux OS experience is a plus.
  • Ability to get and maintain a security clearance, though not required.

Electrical / Mechanical Assembler – GDP Space Systems: Horsham, PA

Leading manufacturer of defense electronic equipment is looking for an electrical/mechanical assembler to perform a variety of production tasks.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Mechanical assembly of equipment chassis.
  • Chassis wiring.
  • Assembly of electronic printed circuit boards
  • Inspection

Required Skills:

  • Utilize a variety of small hand tools such as soldering irons, wire strippers, crimpers, wrenches, screwdrivers, and pliers
  • Measure, cut and strip wires per wiring diagram.
  • Crimp and assemble connectors including coax cable connectors.
  • Hand soldering and de-soldering of thru-hole, and small SMT components
  • Clean finished boards to remove flux residue.
  • Visually examine top and bottom solder for inadequate or defective solder joints
  • Check location of components against a blueprint
  • Work from production/assembly instructions, parts lists, wire lists, diagrams, verbal instructions, and notes to assemble, wire and install a wide variety of components
  • Handle all electronic components within the guidelines of ESD
  • May assist in building engineering/prototype assemblies
  • Interface with manufacturing systems using computers or other electronic devices asrequired
  • IPC 610 and J STD001 certification is a plus
